Jazzy Sunday morning in the company of one of the ambassadors of Polish jazz and… Jimi Hendrix!
The Artur Dutkiewicz Trio is coming to Luxembourg's neimënster to present a very original programme composed of jazz reinterpretations of songs by Jimi Hendrix, and a selection of their own compositions and film music tunes.
Artur Dutkiewicz is an outstanding pianist, composer and a genuine ambassador of Polish jazz, who has performed in over 60 countries all around the world. He will be joined onstage by Michał Barański and Adam Zagórski, who together create one of the strongest rhythm sections in Polish jazz. They have shared the stage with the likes of Bennie Maupin, Brad Terry, Nigel Kennedy, Tomasz Stańko, Dan Tepfer, Dayna Stephens, Atma Anur, Zbigniew Namysłowski and Michał Urbaniak. Impressive!
The Arthur Dutkiewicz Trio will perform pieces from the “Hendrix Piano” programme and some of Arthur Dutkiewicz’ own music from his latest albums "Traveller" and "Prana" and the trio’s arrangements of film music themes. The unique sound of the Trio relies on building strong emotional atmospheres, using precise modern jazz instrumentation with a pinch of improvisation and elements of Polish folk and world music.
