Festival „Book On!“ – Performances’ Weekend – October 5-6
Children’s Literature Festival “Book On!” is back for its 2nd edition! On October 5-6 we are presenting a Performances’ Weekend featuring:
Theatre crew “Pea Green Boat” from Barcelona, Spain, and their picture book and puppet show “Gwendolyn” (Ages 3+, in English, duration 45’).
Gwendolyn the gnome and Matilda the bird are two friends. They decide to build a house to live in, but sharing is not easy. Matilda is irritated by her intolerant neighbour and Gwendolyn doesn’t accept the bird’s playful nature. “Gnome” is a puppet show about the challenge of friendship, tolerance, and new family structures. The set and puppets are made with natural organic materials.
Performances on October 5 at 13.00 and 16.00
Theatre crew “Pradžia” from Vilnius, Lithuania and their Clown performance “5 seconds of fame” (all ages, wordless, duration 40’)
Probably everyone has felt uncomfortable at least once in front of their friends, grandparents or other people when reading a poem, singing a song or telling a story. Sometimes the excitement is so overwhelming that all you can do is tap your foot and say – “I can't, I don’t want to, I don’t know how to do anything!”. The performance of the clown duo Tchi and Pau is just the right choice for anyone who has ever had this feeling. In this gripping story, Tchi and Pau will help you realize that there is nothing to worry about: we are all unique just as we are. Someone can sing, someone can dance, someone can stand on their head, and someone can do something else that's not like any of these. It’s all worth five seconds of fame, and a true friend will always lend a hand to encourage you to get up on your stage. After all, you are unique and special just the way you are!
Performances on October 6 at 11.00 and 14.00.
